Reiki

Reiki is a modality with Japanese roots that is used to reduce stress and promote relaxation and healing. It is administered by the laying of hands on various parts of the body and operates under the idea that an unseen life- force energy flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's life-force energy is low, they are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, they are more capable of being happy and healthy. A reiki practitioner is able to channel life-force energy and allow it to enter the client, to be used to boost the client's own healing capabilities. The client will receive as much or as little of this healing energy as they require. Reiki can do no harm.

The word Reiki is derived from two Japanese words: "Rei" which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and "Ki" which, like "Qi," means "life force energy." So, Reiki means "spiritually guided life-force energy."

A reiki treatment will be experienced differently by each client. Reiki does not treat disease; rather, it treats the person holistically (mind, body, and spirit). Reiki is simple, natural, and safe for all ages and wellness circumstances. Though mild to moderate detoxification symptoms have been reported, it carries no ill side-effects and is not contraindicated with any other form of treatment. In fact, it works very complementary with other therapies and is often used to ease negative side-effects and increase the positive effects of other treatments.

For those withing to further explore the healing art of Reiki as a practitioner, private and group Reiki attunements and classes are available (1st, 2nd & 3rd Degree/Master).
